Once again, I am forced to criticize Neo-Conservative Michelle Malkin’s writings.
Taking her marching orders from Neil and John Podhoretz, Michelle Malkin goes on a rather idiotic rant.
….On the way Barack Obama lays his flowers at the 9/11 memorial in New York.
Quoting Malkin:

By contrast, John McCain and his wife kneel and gently, somberly, place their roses down at the foot of the 9/11 tribute.
For the record, it was not flung, as Mrs. Malkin put it, he tossed it. So what?
What the hell exactly did she want, for Barack Obama to drop to his knees and wail? Please. If he would have that, Malkin would have criticized him for being a world class phony. For the record, so would have I. But that’s another story! 😉 😀
Further more, by posting this sort of drivel on her Blog, she further promotes that whole mentality, that Barack Obama is a undercover terrorist. Which she has in the past inferred, and has continued to infer on her blog AND in her columns.
I respect her writings and her views, I agree with her views on the military, very much so. In fact, it was Malkin’s coverage of the defacing of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington D.C. that was one of the many deciding factors for me to no longer vote Democrat, and for me to basically decide that I was not as much as a “Democrat” as I had assumed that I was. This, going against my own family. But, this little bit of nonsense right here goes beyond the pail, and this on a National Day of remembering the dead.
Now, I know Michelle, she will not approve my trackback, because, like most Neo-Conservatives, she’s a fascist. She does not want her many legions of readers to see that someone, like me, who is a Conservative, albeit, an Libertarian leaning, Paleo-Conservative; disagreeing with her and publicly chastising her for her moment of blatant stupidity. Comes with the territory.
Sorry, “Sweetie”, but you blew it on this one. I am very highly disappointed in you, young lady. I still like ya, but you really, really, should not have published that, at all.

I have to agree with you that ascribing motives from afar is risky business. But michelle did accept your trackback, so your assertion that she is a “fascist” for not doing so is something you should ponder for a while. Also, you say you “like” her after you’ve called her a fascist. I find that odd.

I am quite surprised she even allowed it to stay on her Blog. Either she’s allowing it, because she hopes some of the “Malkin-Bots” will try and hack my blog or something to that effect.
I mentioned that because she’s deleated my trackbacks in the past. As well as other Bloggers who’ve criticized her.
I do like her writings, I just don’t agree with her brand of Conservatism at all.

I am a casual reader of Malkin’s blog and that’s how I found your site. I don’t think I could be considered a Malkin-bot – I read her blog and hundreds of others semi-regularly from time to time.
That being said, I think she brings up a good point. It is worth discussion to note how a man who is very close to being president handles himself in such situations. I think it’s a point well made – regardless of how important it is or not.
Everyone is entitled his or her opinions. The problem with this is, it shows that the Republicans simply don’t have anything to hang on Obama, so, they’re grasping at straws. This will continue until the election in November. When Obama beats the Republicans in November.
The problem is, the Republicans are on the wrong end of the spectrum on the important issues, House crisis, the economy, the war on terror and the list goes on and on.
The problem is, everyone seems to think that because McCain is some sort of war hero, which has been disputed from many quarters, that this entitles him to be president and a bumbling old fool. Sorry, I don’t buy it. Neither does the rest of America.
The problem is, McCain is doing two things wrong, or has done. First, he’s running on narrative, that disaffected Hillary voters, will vote for Sarah Palin, two, He’s using his POW Status as a crutch. Both will come back to bite in the end, it always does.

My comment on the flower toss/lay issue is this: I’m willing to consider that it may be a generational issue. I’m of McCain’s generation, and agree that it would be considered at least poor taste, and bordering on lack of respect to toss flowers on a grave (unless, for some reason, the grave site was not accessable for laying the flowers) — but this might not be a common attitude for younger people. (The reason for this is another discussion, but may be due to the near-total lack of patriotic content in today’s schooling — when you denigrate symbolic shows of patriotism, you are also, perhaps inadvertantly, denigrating other symbolic acts of respect.)
I strongly disagree that the Republicans have “nothing to hang on Obama”, however. I am sure that advertisments are being prepared (and release timing evaluated) that will be pretty damaging to Obama in the next few months. The Obama camp thinks that they have “gotten beyond” issues with Obama’s past associations, but I think that many are still uneasy with them. Had McCain been attending meetings of the Aryan Brotherhood for 20 years, for example, then quit after he started running for President, he probably wouldn’t get a pass on it.
One thing Obama’s run has proven is that, the first time a highly qualified black runs for President, he or she will win in a landslide — being a minority has been a major advantage for Obama. (Are you paying attention, Colin Powell?)
To each to his own, I suppose. 🙄
I guess maybe Obama didn’t think that 9/11 should be used a political prop.
You know, kinda like the Republicans do?
