Clearly, he put his country before his career. He was not working for the glorification of Ayers, he was working for the benefit of Chicago education, on city establishment boards that involved people from across the political spectrum, including one odious twerp who did bad things in the sixties. Clearly everyone involved, including the conservatives like Annenberg, believed the goal was more important than Ayers&#039; past.

Putting the country first means working with people you may have differences with.</description>
