RNC Spends $150K to make Sarah Palin look good

Sorry gang, got a late start today. Slept till noon. SleepyYawn I needed to catch up. Didn’t get much sleep the last few days. Because Dad was in the hospital. So, I’m a little sluggish today. Sigh

The big story today is that the RNC spent $150K on wardrobe and make up on Sarah Palin and some within the Republican Party are not happy about it.

The reactions are mixed:

Michelle Malkin says “Heckuva job, RNC”

John McCormack at the Weekly Standard wants to know “How much is Hillary Clinton’s Wardrobe worth?

Don Surber says it was money well spent and based on some of these, well, interesting photos of her, I think he’s correct. Hee heeWinking

Ann Althouse wants to know if it is legal or not.

My Take: At this point, I do not think that this will all matter at all. Considering how John McCain is doing in the polls.  I believe that this is a distraction generated by the Liberal media to cover up for the huge gaffes made by Joe Biden.

Further more, I believe it is a distraction to focus away from the real facts about Barack Obama. In fact Ed over at Hotair.com and a few of his friends, have made up a very good case against Barack Obama. I suggest that you read it before voting.

  1. Governor Palin will NOT be keeping the clothes. They will be auctioned off.

It HAS TO BE legal, as the Pubs would certainly know that this information would get out.

Now, if the MSM would worry about important stuff, say like Obama’s LACK of a record, his refusal to release his medical records…stuff like that.

  2. Frankly, the only purchase I’m worried about is that Barack Obama is literally BUYING this election! Where is the outrage at the obscene amount of money (what, 8 times McCain?) that he is spending. Where is the incrimination of our political system. We need new regulation, we have got to stop this insanity – and I know how.
    1) RNC & DNC purchase half page columns in major newspapers around the country every Sunday for four months before the election and the candidates write on a different topic each week.
    2) PBS/CSPAN and any willing news channel – let’s have “townhall forums” televised and free access – at least 6 per candidate and in addition to the debates.
    3) We need a serious debate fact check, complete with PROOF, that will be published ONLINE. This MUST be a total check, MUST be bipartisan, and MUST have verifiable documentation. This is the ultimate in accountability.

  3. This is stupid! Sarah Palin is like any other professional woman who needs to look the part. This is a business (campaign) expense! Don’t tell me Hillary and Obama didn’t buy clothes for their campaign, or that some designer did not give them to them. Why is this any different then buying food or snacks or transportation etc. If you don’t have a bus or plane, you have to rent one, if you don’t have the proper attire, you have to purchase it. Not all of us have trust funds or husbands that make six figures or more to buy clothes for us. Snob Republicans, Media and Libs get over it!!

  4. Gov. Sarah Palin can’t win, that is she cannot win with the media. She most certainly wins with everyday folks like me! If she were to wear the clothes she normally wears they would be rip her to shreds for being tacky and embarrasement to the office she is running for. Maybe the liberals are upset that the government didn’t pay for the clothes! Christians believed that God is the source from Whom all blessings flow and the socialists believe that it flows from the government.
