In January of 2007 Tennessee Democrat Stephen I. Cohen attempted to become the first white member of the Congressional Black Caucus. He was turned down. The reason given was, “It’s an unwritten rule. It’s understood. It’s clear [that white people will never be a member].” Mr. Clay added that since Mr. Cohen had been refused membership, “It’s time [for Cohen] to move on.”

Rep. William Lacy Clay Sr., D-Mo., a co-founder of the caucus, had circulated a memo telling members it was “critical” that the group remain “exclusively African-American.”

Other members, including the new chairwoman, Rep. Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick, D-Mich., and Clay’s son, Rep. William Lacy Clay, D-Mo., agreed.

“Mr. Cohen asked for admission, and he got his answer. … It’s time to move on,” the younger Clay said.

Where was the media then?? Oh, I forgot. It’s only “racism” when blacks don’t get their way, right?? Can you say “double-standard”??

By the way, no one has EVER called Roland Burris “darky”, you race-card playing morons!

No one has mentioned the small fact that Burris has a consulting firm that donated 300 000.00 to blago crooks govs campaign. publid record….HE BOUGHT AND PAID FOR THE BOBUS APPOINTMENT…LEGAL MY BUTT, QUALIFIED: YEA TO FLEECE THE PUBLIC. my lord when will it ever end….and all these people that support him the blind leadeing the blind into a ditch.,
