Hi Kevin,

I agree with what you said, for the most part. I think more than anything, the post's timing, was not the greatest and the placement of the cartoon, on the reverse side of the page where Obama was signing the bill, wasn't a smart move.

I do however, agree with this here:

Thirdly, all of this race-baiting misses the point of the cartoon: this stimulus bill is absolute madness that, combined with Bush’s irresponsible bailout package, will impoverish most Americans in order to save the fortunes of the politically connected.

Amen, Amen, and Amen. As someone who has not had a job here in Michigan since 2005, I am left wondering, Hmmmm, where's my Bailout and Stimulus? I admit some of my problems with the ability to find the job are my own. But Cripes, where's my damn check at? I made ZERO income last year, I won't be getting squat. So, Yeah, I'm kinda pissed about that.

However, what really PISSES ME OFF is how the Neo-Cons are being such pricks towards the Auto Companies, I will admit, I am a bit biased there; my dad is retired from G.M.; anyhow, these idiots want to see my Dad lose his insurance. I just don't get that at all. My Dad didn't create this economic mess, why should he be punished? Besides all that, the UNIONS are paying for the retires insurance, not the company. So, I just don't get all this hate.

Sorry to ramble, but I wanted to make these points.

I think people are straining to find racism in this one. First of all, Obama didn't write the "stimulus" bill, so it's stretching things to claim that the chimp is supposed to be Obama. Secondly, even if the chimp was supposed to be Obama, let me point out that it was very common during the last 8 years to see Bush compared to a chimpanzee. What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander, no?

Thirdly, all of this race-baiting misses the point of the cartoon: this stimulus bill is absolute madness that, combined with Bush's irresponsible bailout package, will impoverish most Americans in order to save the fortunes of the politically connected.

The Race to Racism is not entirely one sided. Can a White enter a Black Pageant, NO. Can a Black enter a White Pageant, YES. There are other areas that are Taboo for the "Whites". They would be called Racists. My Objections arrive from the Fact that MR. Barrak Hussein Muhammed Obama is NOT an American and is NOT the President of the United Srtates. He is an Illegal Arab African Immigrant aka, Barry Soertor, Indonesian Muslim. He did NOT come through Customs when he entered OUR Country and has YET to Disclose his Credentials according to OUR Constitution. Therefore, being a Korean Veteran, I WILL NOT SALUTE HIM ORACKNOWLEDGE HIM AS MY PRESIDENT. HE NEEDS TO GO BACK TO AFRICA AND APPLY FOR ENTRANCE THE SAME AS THEY ARE DOING TO THE MEXICANS, THAT I PREFER OVER HIM ANY DAY.

Speaking as an African-American female, I believe Mr. Holder should stick to his duties as Attorney-General; which should be enough to keep him busy. President Obama gave a speech on race relations that was very intellectual. He was able to articulate his message without being devisive. He even had the guts to go to a predominately black church and lecture black men about their roles in the breakdown of the black families headed by strong black women. I remember myself years ago being invited to speak at a friend's church. I spoke on the black community to not blame anyone else for many of their problems but rather to began to look within themselves. I received so many dirty looks from the congregation, I never went back there ever again. My father raised me this way. He said the United States was the greatest country on this earth. My father was orphaned as a little boy during the depression; yet he never blamed anyone for the hand he was dealt. He was an honest hardworking black man who raised 7 children after his wife (my mother died) of breast cancer. Five of the seven have degrees. The other two have skill trades. This man was actually my step-father because you see; my biological father was of european descent. His father said if he married my mother , he would disown him; yet I do not blame anyone for my plight. Today I am 55 years old, successful and married to a very strong man just like my stepfather and he's "white". "Oh well, I'll prayer for Mr. Holder not to be bitter."

...and my parents, who are both very White, and have voted Democrat since Reagan's second term, both voted for Obama.

I choose not to vote for him, because I disagreed with his politics, does that make me racist?
