I do this full time, I am one of the many in this Country, who are unemployed. I am not eligible for any sort of unemployment at all. I've been out of work since 2005. I do not want a Government handout. So, if you enjoy what you read here. Please consider a donation. No matter how big or how small --- every little bit helps me out very much.

Mark Steyn on debt to our kids

Mark Steyn on the debt that we’re leaving our Children:

Just between you, me, and the old, the late middle-aged and the early middle-aged: Isn’t it terrific to be able to stick it to the young? I mean, imagine how bad all this economic-type stuff would be if our kids and grandkids hadn’t offered to pick up the tab.

Well, OK, they didn’t exactly "offer" but they did stand around behind Barack Obama at all those campaign rallies helping him look dynamic and telegenic and earnestly chanting hopey-hopey-changey-changey. And "Yes, we can!"

Which is a pretty open-ended commitment.

Are you sure you young folks will be able to pay off this massive Mount Spendmore of multitrillion-dollar debts we’ve piled up on you?

"Yes, we can!"

We thought you’d say that! God bless the youth of America! We of the Greatest Generation, the Boomers and Generation X salute you, the plucky members of the Brokest Generation, the Gloomers and Generation Y, as in "Why the hell did you old coots do this to us?"

via Mark Steyn: Welcome, kids, to the Brokest Generation – Opinion – OCRegister.com.

Now, I realize that Steyn was being snarky. To be fair, much of this debt was brought on, long before Obama ever took office. But Obama sure did not do anything to stop the increase of that debt. In fact, Obama has added to it.

This whole idea of tax the rich, and spend out way out of a recession, is just bad all the way around. Mainly, because we are spending money that we do not even have. We are getting it from China, who is increasingly getting nervous about giving us this money; not to mention, they are becoming more hostile by the day.

So, while I think it is quite fun to blame the Democrats from everything from the weather to my inability to get laid. (Surprised)  Some things you just cannot put on one party or the other; because, quite frankly, both parties have done the dirty of adding to our national debt.

Others: Cold Fury and Pajamas Media

Interesting blog and post, but it’s missing an important part of the equation: Generation Jones, born 1954-1965, between the Boomers and Generation X. Google Generation Jones, and you’ll see it’s gotten a ton of media attention, and many top commentators from many top publications and networks (Washington Post, Time magazine, NBC, Newsweek, ABC, etc.) now specifically use this term. GenJones is particularly relevant here, given the fact that the vast majority of GenYers are the offspring of GenJones. Generation experts underline the importance of parental influences in the formation of collective generational personalities.

    • I didn’t miss a thing. I know the point Steyn was trying to make. The problem is, it is not totally honest.

      1. Obama DID inherit the mess.
      2. It was caused by Bush Sr, Clinton and Bush Jr.
      3. There was a Surplus under Clinton
      4. We were whacked on 9/11 caused war, one was justified the other, is debatable.
      5. Bush did abandon his free market principles and pulled a stupid move.
      6. Obama’s idea of Tax the rich and spend our way out of this mess is stupid
      7. Obama still has not fixed the sub-prime problem, by outlawing the practice

Hope this makes it more clear. :D

Gold ---- Banks hate it, Governments Hate it, and even some Conservatives dismiss it. But you need it! This monetary system will eventually crash and the stock market is no longer a guaranteed form of income. President Obama has spent our currency system into oblivion. The Government is printing more and more money, and is buying it's own debt. Sooner or later the current financial system in the United States and possibly globally will collapse. You must be ready....

I admit it; I do not always agree with Ron Paul; Especially when it comes to foreign policy. However, I will be totally honest; Ron Paul's honesty, when it comes to our monetary system, is brutal. Some people dismiss Ron Paul as some old kook, when it comes to this stuff. I disagree. I think the man is very right ---- as we found out here in 2008. I think more people ought to listen him --- when it comes to fiscal policy. Please, give this video about 42 minutes of your time. You will be amazed of what you hear.
