If Sean Hannity’s Show fails it will be because of stuff like this….

As some of you know, I have begun to watch Fox News, after all I am a right-leaning Blog after all. It is a refreshing break from the “In the Tank” Liberal Media of MSNBC and to an extent, CNN. I find most of the players over there tolerable. However, Sean Hannity is another story.

A perfect example:

HANNITY: You know, I’m going to — I resent this. When you consider…all we have done just in the last century alone to save Europe from themselves. I resent this. I think it’s outrageous, the media’s ignored it. But don’t you think this is like the Dixie Chicks? […]

HANNITY: But didn’t we see all of this in the campaign? As I was bringing up — didn’t Reverend Wright give us a little insight into his thought process? Didn’t, you know, Michelle Obama, America is a downright mean country. … But I’m thinking, didn’t we get some insight? When you sit on a board and give speeches with Bill Ayers, didn’t this — Do you think he harbors deep resentment that he just hides? Because I believe he does.

You can go see the video over at the “Think Progress” site, I have no interest in embedding that fools nonsense on my site. The problem with Sean Hannity is this; Sean Hannity is still repeating the same dead tired talking points of the last President Administration and he is also still reciting the talking points of the McCain Presidential campaign. Earth to Hannity: The Campaign is over, McCain lost, your hero Bush is out of office, you can stop carrying water anytime you like.

The real kicker in all this is the following. Sean Hannity calls himself a Libertarian. Seriously. Sean Hannity is about as much as a Libertarian, as I am a sworn Communist. This idiot sits and defends the Iraq War and how necessary that it was to the security of America and so on. In case anyone does not know, that is the line of the Wilsonian, Neo-Conservatives. The Libertarian Party has never, ever, been pro-war at all. I just wonder, does the Libertarian Party know that Sean Hannity is identifying himself as a member of that Party? Sean Hannity is nothing more than a Wilsonian, Neo-Conservative Republican. No libertarian, that I know spouts those talking points, none of them.

I said back when Alan Colmes left that show; that it would never last and if Sean Hannity continues doing what he is doing now. He very may well end up without a job. It is one thing to criticize the President’s policies, it is another when that criticism rises the level of slander. Which is what Sean Hannity is doing. It is one thing to criticize the President with facts, but it is another to using long discarded talking points of the Pre-Obama Presidency Republican Party and of the McCain campaign.

The very strange and almost twilight zone aspect of the whole thing is, I find Bill O’Reilly totally tolerable. Which is quite strange considering before the Presidency of Obama. I could not bear to watch him. Bill does seem to have toned his show down a bit. He doesn’t cut the mics off anymore, he allows the “Other Side” as he calls them, to voice their opinions and views. Which I think is so much more professional. Which leads to me to wonder why Keith Olbermann continually attacks him. I believe it’s because Keith is still bitter at Fox News because of his firing, due to his behavior at the network.

Now if Fox could get Sean to be more like O’Reilly, I’d be more inclined to watch.

  1. So Hannity is bad and OReilly is good? OReilly attacked free speech and war dissenters, implied everyone who didn’t blindly support Bush “needs to shut up”, get a “visit from Fox Security” or even be imprisoned. OReilly’s attack on Obama is as predictable as his blind support of the Wilsonian neocons. None of them are any more libertarian than Il Duce Mussolini. For them, Beck, all their ilk who have suddenly found “libertarianism”, if you see anything more than a GOP/establishment attempt at taking over our ideology and talking points then we might as well just start donating to John McCain’s campaigns again. Establishment you want, establishment you get.

    1. No, I didn’t say either were perfect. I have disagreements with O’Reilly too. But at least O’Reilly is Bearable. Sean Hannity is just unbearable.

      All I am saying.

To O’Reilly’s credit he’s said that the Iraq War was not worth the cost. Of which, I agree.

      1. As a result of Beck’s new “libertarianism” I don’t think it’s ever been clearer. I suppose the ideological core point would be that Foxnews and the like are privately owned and certainly protected under 1st Amendment. So unless we want to buy them outright, we might hope to “penetrate” them but we’ll never control them. But the choice is to try this or to simply replace the MSM which is looking very much like a real possibility now.

If this sounds remote, consider judge Napolitano. Great, Fox gave him a little podcast or whatever. Our foothold in the MSM! And who’s the frequent guest? Perhaps the most frequent guest? Glenn Beck.

Glenn Back. NOT G. Edward Griffin NOT Lew Rockwell, NOT Bob Schulz, NOT Joe Bannister, NO ONE int the movement who is not already pre-approved by Fox. So we got the Wilsonian neocon pretender Beck, Peter Schiff who’s entire angle is the investment community and Dr. Paul. And seriously, when did Fox do us any favors when the RP campaign was in effect? They were foremost among our critics, conspiring with Ghouliani to leave his mic on and laughing at us in public.

So here you are, part of our MSM replacement machine and you are steering cred into OReally. It’s just not computing to me.

Bitterness is such tragic thing….and for the record, Paul did himself in when he allowed the newsletters with his name on them, with the questionable content in them to be published.

So here you are, part of our MSM replacement machine and you are steering cred into OReally. It’s just not computing to me.

Wow, so much for Freedom of Speech eh? You sound like a Neo-Con yourself….”We believe in freedom of speech, as long as it fits within our personal political agenda!”

    1. I hope you don’t feel I’m not curtailing your freedom of speech in any way. You can comment back on my FreedomsPhoenix articles anytime and say anything you want. No personal attack intended, I’m trying to make a point.

I’d call the point about newsletters distinct from FoxNews. I’m not aware FoxNews used the newsletter missile on RP. However if your point is that bitterness is best forgot, I don’t think one has to forget to forgive. Once bit, twice shy.

Incredible how that newsletter thing just won’t go away though. We can agree it was horrible oversight on the Doc’s part, but wouldn’t you say there are major elements of guilt by association happening to us both left and right? Somehow, parts of our ideology seem to fit well with racists, nazis, practitioners-of-violence and now….the neocon MSM. So I see one of our greatest challenges now as being distinct from these both ideologically and in public perception. Otherwise we’re not a vanguard movement, we’re a peripheral footnote. And such things as being identified as “militia” terrorist types in MAICS reports & etc. I’d have to say are a direct consequence of this problem.

  3. I missed thursdays show who was it in the secret photo on Hannitys show ??????

    1. I’m not entirely sure but rumor has it that it might have been Palio Pat naked. We’re still running the forensic tests on that and I don’t want to feed into an un-substantiated rumor, and rumor-mongering has no place in this movment, none whatsoever.
