Why I will not be watching the Republican debate

This pretty much sums it up…:

The fall marathon of four Republican presidential debates in little more than a month may already be wearing out casual observers of the political process, or those who expected their favored candidate to knockout the competition in one appearance.

Let’s remember these debates are about theater, not issues — and tonight’s play is Julius Caesar, with Texas Governor Rick Perry in the title role, and the other eight candidates on the stage surrounding him with their knives at the ready.

We know in Shakespeare’s version of the play Caesar was eventually slain, but front-running Rick Perry may decide to change the script and the outcome of tonight’s presentation of political theater.

I know that the author of this, Richard A. Viguerie, is not real popular amongst the right. But, when he is right, he is right. These debates are nothing more than a Republican fashion show. When the Republicans actually start debating Democrats; and can do that, articulating why President Barack Obama’s polices have failed, without sounding crazy, is when I will get interested.
