Short Facts about me:

Sex: Yes! (Male)

Martial Status: Single and looking for Miss Right.

Age: 36 (Older than dirt)

Location: The bastion of Liberalism, that is Detroit, unfortunately. I live in the Suburbs.

How long I’ve been Blogging: Officially since February of 2006

F.A.Q.

Question: Are you Liberal, Conservative, or what?

My Political Leanings are somewhere between Right-libertarianism and Moderate libertarianism. Although, I am very hawkish when it comes to our Military. However, when it comes to War and defense, I tend to lean more Paleolibertarianism. Mainly because I just do not believe that the United States has any business being the World’s Policeman. Nor do I believe that the United States has any business showing any sort of partiality to ANY country, at all. The main reason I cannot be nailed down to one particular party is because, I feel that neither of these political parties are Moral or Political Absolutes. There needs to be a broader dialog, especially amongst Conservatives.

Question: Were not you a Liberal Blogger at one point?

Answer: Technically I was what you would call a “Left of Center” type Blogger. Although, I then, and still kind of lean to the center on SOME, (NOT ALL!) issues. I was a self-described “Populist”. The problem is now, the Populist movement is more enjoined more with socialism than anything else.

Question: So, Why the change in Political Positions?

Answer: There were a number of reasons why I moved to, what some would call a Right Wing position, or more intelligent people would call a “Center Right” or “Right of Center” stance. First off, I found myself in horrid opposition to much of what is known as the “Far Left”. Their anti-capitalist mentality, Their hatred and resentment of our Nation’s Military, Their thinking that the Government is the solution to our Nation’s problems. I could go on and on, but I think you know what I mean.

Question: What is your honest opinion of the Republican Party?

Honestly? That party has not been worth a plug nickle since 1964. That is when Barry Goldwater ran for President. I admired Reagan, but he was too “Kissy Kissy” with the Religious Right for me.

Question: What is your honest opinion on the Democratic Party?

Answer: Just read or watch this speech and you’ll understand how I feel about the Democratic Party. I didn’t leave that Party. They left me.

Question: What is your feelings on the Libertarian Party?

Answer: The Libertarian sane alternative to the two major parties in this country, that is for sure. However, I don’t wear rose colored glasses, I know that there’s never been a Libertarian President.

Question: What is your feelings on Globalism?

Answer: I have a moderate, pragmatist stance on it. I believe Isolationism is a flawed mentality. I believe free trade and globalism is fine, as long as it is not hurting the American Worker. I believe there’s a fine balance in there somewhere. The trick is to find it.

Question: What is your opinion regarding capitalism?

Answer: That’s a tricky question. Here’s how I feel about it. I believe that totally unregulated Capitalism is dangerous, abusive, and ungodly as hell. I do not believe that there is anything wrong with light oversight in capitalism. I am totally against the Nationalization of ANY industry, at all; It is communism. Period, end of story.  There is difference in slight regulation and Nationalization. There are those who would deride me as a fake Libertarian. To that I offer to find them the nearest short pier and invite them to take a long jump from it. :D

Question: Hey, Are not you the guy that (insert your story here)

Answer: There are a good number of things that I have done in the past, especially when I was a “Left of Center” Blogger, which I now regret. One of my biggest mistakes was assuming that I HAD to be a Liberal to not be in support of the Neo-Conservative President and his policies. Needless to say, I have definitely gotten that straightened out! ;) :P :D

Question: Were you not at one point involved with Church? or are not a Christian?

Answer: Yes. I have been a Christian for 26 Years. I’m not a zealot, however.

Question: Did you not have a major change in your Christian Life?

Sure Did! I was, for all intents and purposes, a Evangelical, Pentecostal Christian for 21 years.

Question: What are you now?

Answer: I am, for all intents and purposes, a Fundamentalist Christian. Baptist Doctrinally.

Question: Why the switch?

Answer: Long story. Short and sweet version is this, I saw where Pentecostalism and the evangelical Church was headed and I decided that was not where I wanted to be. I also began to doubt the Pentecostal doctrine of speaking in tongues and miracles after my grandmother died of Alzheimer’s Disease. Let me be clear, I believe in real Miracles, not that snake oil salesman crap that the Pentecostals like to sell on the Television.

Question: How come you are not involved with Church now?

Answer: I grew tired of being around people that didn’t practice what they preached.

Question: How do you feel about the separation of Church and State?

Answer: I totally support it! The Church of England’s meddling in the affairs of the Government in Great Britain is why the puritans (or Pilgrims…) left and came to America!

Question: How do you feel about the influence of Political Blogs into the Political Process in America?

Answer: They have their place, I suppose, Blogging gave a voice to the people. There are some great Blogs on both sides of the political aisle. Some Blogs are mere echo chambers, some Bloggers take themselves too seriously, as if they’re hot stuff, when, in all honesty they’re not.  Please, don’t get me wrong, there’s hot stuff Bloggers on both sides, some came as writers to the Blogging scene to get a broader audience and It worked for them.  The segregation of the political ideology camps troubles me a bit. Some people get so locked up into that, I don’t, mainly because I see issues on both sides. I see myself as a Third Party, Independent Blogger than anything.

Question: Is there anything about Political Blogging, that you dislike?

Answer: Yes. Many things.  The segregation between the Political Parties. The vile meanness that goes on, especially in the comment sections,  when someone dies, Liberals AND Conservatives do it and it sucks, people need to just learn some damned respect. This is why I keep my Comment section locked down, I keep the Moderation on, some call that censorship, I call it covering one’s backside and keeping the level of respect and quality on one’s Blog high.  What troubles me the most is, some Bloggers, especially on the Conservative side, all they can do is bad mouth the other side, liberals do it too. Sometimes Politics is a damn sewer. I mean, why can’t people just Blog on the stories of the day, and give their take on it, without all the hate mongering? Par for the course, I guess. Does not mean it’s right though.  :(   I guess you could say that I am ready for a Political truce and an end to the whole political war thing. It gets tiring after a while.  Also, at times, I get tired of how the same old subjects get hash and rehashed, I don’t mind a story lasting a day or so, but after like 2 days, I’m ready to move on. Also, sometimes, it is quite hard to stay objective about things that I highly disagree with. It’s rough, but I try and do it, the best that I can.

Question: Have you ever thought about quitting?

Answer: Many times. One time very seriously, after a Blog war erupted between me and a another group of Bloggers. Admittedly, it was my fault, that the war even started. I’ve also at times felt that like this was all a bad joke and that I should quit, But what else would I do?  There’s times when it all just gets old. I love to write, but I just don’t like the idea of having to entertain people or the idea of being some-one’s “go to” guy on politics. I know the game, but I’m just not interested in being the coach! I just give my opinion on things, and hope someone gets something out of it.

Question: what’s your Writing/Blogging Style?

Answer: It varies. Everyone is different, Glen over Instapundit is a one or two liner Blogger, sometimes, I do that. Sometimes, I’ll jot two or three paragraphs. Depends on my level of interest  Also, there are times, when I really feel the need to fire up Microsoft Word 2007 and really pour myself into a good heartfelt commentary. Especially when if am angered or moved emotionally about something. However, I try to avoid writing emotionally charged opinion pieces. Because, I feel that if you writing from an emotional standpoint, you lose any sort of objectivity.

Question: Why did you start Blogging?

Answer: I originally came into Blogging back in February of 2006, Because  for one, I ended a relationship with a Church I was involved in, and I really needed a distraction from that. Plus, I was very unhappy with the entire political scene in Washington D.C. At first, I hopped into the Liberal side of the pool, I quickly realized, “Whoops! Wrong side!” and came over to the more “Right of Center” end of the pool.

Question: Do you make money on this Blog?

Answer: To be clear, I am not getting rich off of this Blog, at all. I’ve made money from donations in the past. But is a source of income? Not yet. I am, so far, making a little money on Advertising.

Question: Do you have a “Day Job”?

Answer: A day job? What’s that? ;) :P  Seriously, I have not had a “day job” since 2005. I last worked as a merchandiser vendor for a major home improvement chain. I handled Lighting, I had to quit. The job was making me physically sick. Due to the medication that I take. The company shortly after that went out of business. So, I don’t think I made out that badly. I have not had a good paying steady job since 2000. Yes folks, I haven’t worked steady since Bush took office, 8 years ago. Lovely eh?  You see now, why I am not fond of him? :D

Question: Is it true that you have A.D.D. or A.D.H.D.

Answer: Yes. I was diagnosed at age 5. I take an anti-depressant called Desipramine 50 mg’s, twice daily. It works for my condition as well.  I used to take Ritalin. I switched when I was 18. Best thing that ever happened to me! :D

Question: Does this mean you are stupid, slow or crazy?

Answer: Stupid? No. Slow? No. Crazy???? Well, um, Define Crazy. Seriously. No, I am in full use of my mental faculties.  A.D.D. is a learning disability. A.D.H.D. is a learning disability with a bunch of energy to boot. I do have the Learning disability, but the excessive energy left me a LONG time ago.

Question: What your are feelings towards those who say A.D.D. is a myth?

Answer: You can’t fix stupid……and they’re stupid.

Question: Is it true that you have a CDL-A?

Answer: Yes. No Hazmat, I let that go, it costs 89 bucks to get fingerprinted for a hazmat license, and I’m a budget. I have the license, I just have no experience driving a Class A vehicle. (I do have experience driving a Stake or Straight truck!)  Thanks to the stupid insurance industry, I can’t get a job locally driving.

Question: Why not go over the road? (OTR)

Answer: <bleep!> that! I like my bed at night. I could never do OTR. Also I don’t see well at night, and I also tend to get lost very easily. Hell, I’ve gotten lost in my own neighborhood, what does THAT tell you? ;)

Question: Do you accept advertising on this Blog?

Answer: Absolutely! As long as it is closely related as possible to the subject of this Blog. Please contact me for a rate. I don’t do banner design, I’m just not that talented.
